Nafal Al-Taie
Attorney Nafal
Al-Taie, born in Mosul, Nineveh, graduated from the College of Law in 1991. She
has served as Chair of the Nineveh Bar Association’s Delegation Committee since
2007 and has been re-elected for three consecutive terms. Following the events
in Nineveh Province in 2014, she served as Director of the Bar Association’s
Administration and Chair of the Displaced Persons Committee. She is active in
the field of human rights. She has worked with civil society organizations and
participated in numerous domestic and international conferences, earning many
certificates of participation. She was honored with the Faculty of Law and
Political Science Plaque at the University of Mosul in 2011, received the
Distinguished Woman Plaque from the Parliamentary Women’s Committee in 2014,
and was awarded the Nineveh Provincial Council Plaque for two consecutive
terms. She won a poll conducted by Al-Sharqiya TV for the best female leader,
earning the title “The Iron Lady” in 2014. She was honored with the
Distinguished Lawyer Award by the Bar Association on Lawyers’ Day in 2017
