Dr. Layth Abdulamir\Corporate Communications and Public Relations Manager
An Iraqi writer, director, and media expert based in Paris.
He has over three decades of experience in visual media, film, and television
documentary production, during which he has combined academic work with
artistic creativity and media management.
He currently holds the position of Manager of Corporate
Communications and Public Relations at Al-Massala International Company, where
he works on developing corporate communication strategies, enhancing media and
digital presence, and building a network of professional relationships at the
regional and international levels.
He holds a PhD in Cinema and Media from the National Academy
of Sciences of Ukraine, a Master’s degree in Narrative Cinema from Kyiv
University, and a diploma in Cinema from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
He co-founded and managed a number of prominent media
projects, including the Economic Channel and the Real Estate Channel at Media
City in Dubai. He has also worked as a director and producer for French,
Emirati, and Omani television and contributed to the development of media
cooperation with European and Arab channels.
He studied media and film directing at prestigious Arab and
European universities, including the American University of Paris, Kyiv
University, Sultan Qaboos University in Oman, and the Higher Institute of
Audiovisual Professions in Morocco.
He has presented and directed dozens of documentary films,
which have been broadcast on international channels such as ARTE and FR3 and
have won international awards in Europe, Latin America, and Canada, including
the Best Documentary Film Award at the Tirana Film Festival (Albania), the
Veracruz Festival (Mexico), the Media Festival (Belgium), and the Montreal
African Film Festival. Among his most notable works are: Iraq: The Song of the
Missing Men, The Executioner’s Tear, and Christians of Iraq: Chronicles of an Announced
Exodus.
In addition to his work in film, he writes for Arab, French,
and Russian magazines and newspapers, and his articles have been published in
Arab and international outlets such as Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Al-Faisal, and
Al-Doha, as well as in French, Russian, and Ukrainian magazines. He has
authored studies in Arabic and French on film theory and aesthetics, including
the book Extreme Cinema: The Aesthetics of Boundaries and Transgression (Cairo,
2021) and Extreme cinéma (L'Harmattan, Paris, 2025, and Depasser les bornes
(Al-Ma’mun Publishing House), as well as a contribution to the collective
volume Cinema and Literature (Baghdad, 2024). He has a novel currently in press
titled The Transient Between the Grass of Kurdistan and the Winds of Chernobyl.
